A new Indian cuisine spot is replacing a longtime bakery in the village.
From The Daily Herald, Ahaar Indian Kitchen and Bar was recently approved for 25 S Roselle Road. This is replacing Deerfields Bakery which closed in 2020. As the project was just approved by the village council, owner Sandeep Kumar told What Now Chicago he hopes to open by late summer.
Deerfields Bakery was in the historic area of Schaumburg for about 20 years, and after temporarily closing due to the pandemic, staff had to permanently shut the doors. Now, Kumar is in the process of moving his team and equipment into the building. The exact layout of the restaurant has not been confirmed, but the 4,600-square-foot space will accommodate both a full-service restaurant and bar area inside.
Ahaar joins many restaurants in this area of Schaumburg, including Walker Bros. Original Pancake House across Roselle Road and Phat Phat South East Asian across Quindel Avenue. Other restaurants close-by at the intersection of Schaumburg Road include Lou Malnati’s Pizzeria and Shawarma Stop.
Kumar has not yet set up a social media or website for his new restaurant. As the building develops and he gets closer to the opening this summer, more information will be released to the public.
What Now Chicago has spoken with Kumar and is awaiting further comment.
