Breakfast, lunch and dinner will be available at the new family-owned restaurant.
The new spot Joe’s Kitchen was recently listed online, coming to 13448 24 Mile Road in the township. Thai is opening at the former Stuffed Bun casual restaurant which closed last month. Co-owner Joe Tinaj told What Now Detroit there is no opening date yet due to construction, but the team is shooting for sometime in mid-to-late March.
Tinaj is opening the new restaurant with his parents who have years of restaurant experience. At the new business, they plan on serving dinner items like chicken piccata and chicken marsala. Their specialty “Joe’s Salad” will also be a main menu item.
“Joe’s Kitchen is something that has been building for years. Our family has always dreamed of opening another restaurant together after owning and operating restaurants for 20 years,” Tinaj said. In a Facebook post, the owners also said the restaurant will serve large portions.
The Tinaj family has been in the Shelby Township area for around 15 years, and Tinaj said he and his family are happy to continue calling the area home. They found the former Stuffed Bun location
“The 24 mile and Schoenherr corridor has strong neighborhood presence and visibility, and we saw an opportunity to bring fresh energy to a well known former restaurant space,” Tinaj said.
The kitchen will open at the corner of 24 Mile and Schoenherr roads, and will join the plaza with Pure Green – Juice Bar Shelby Township. This is also close to Coffee Beanery at the same corner. The area is on the north side of Shelby Township.
Now, the owners are hiring for positions including servers, dishwashers and cooks. More information on Joe’s Kitchen and the opening date can be found on their Facebook page.
