Ponce City Market coffee-and-cocktail spot The Upper Room is expanding to a second location this spring, with plans to open at Colony Square in Midtown.

Owners Kelsey Maynor and Shakirah DeMesier, who opened The Upper Room inside Citizens Supply at Ponce City Market in 2024, told What Now Atlanta that they were attracted to the large outdoor area at Colony Square, where customers can come to enjoy their bites and beverages in the greenspace.

In addition to serving their usual signature cocktails — including their popular espresso martini — as well as specialty lattes, wine and light bites such as fresh popcorn, the forthcoming Colony Square location will offer fresh bagels and spreads made in house.

The Upper Room will open at Colony Square on April 4 at 4:04 p.m. to honor Atlanta’s 404 Day.

From here, Maynor and DeMesier hope to continue to expand. They are eyeing hospitality spaces in the hotel market, as well, as they chart future growth for the brand.
