Roots Cafe has announced plans to expand to a second location, according to a recent social media post. The South End restaurant will bring a spot to 5033 South Blvd this spring.
The opening will roll out in two phases. The first phase, slated for a late spring opening, will introduce a 1,385-square-foot space with about 30 seats. The menu will include coffee from Enderly Coffee Co. as well as craft cocktails, a limited hot menu, pastries and some new to-go items.
The second phase, slated to deliver in the fall, will add 1,127 square feet to the space, featuring a larger kitchen and additional seating. It will roll out a more extensive menu with Roots classics as well as additions. They will continue to partner with Freshlist for fresh local ingredients.
Roots Cafe launched in South End in 2017 under the ownership of Craig Barbour. Currently, the South End location offers items such as breakfast burritos and bowls, wraps, sandwiches, pastas and salads.
