With locations at 19392 Ronald W Reagan Blvd, Suite 500, in Georgetown, and at 1205 Round Rock Ave, Suite 135, in Round Rock, Hao Hao Restaurant serves up dishes from Chinese and Vietnamese cuisine, plus cocktails and more.
What Now reported back in 2023 on plans to open the Georgetown/Leander location.
“We’d been looking for a location for years now, but we hadn’t found anything we were happy with,” owner Binh Tran told What Now at the time. “Eventually, a real estate agent that we had worked with before introduced us to this opportunity. We’re really happy with the location, especially with the HEB next door.”
In the time since, about a year ago, the Hao Hao location at 1901 W William Cannon Dr, Suite 115, in South Austin announced its closing.
“We want to take a moment to express our deepest gratitude for your loyalty and support over the past 35 years,” said a post by the restaurant shared here. “It has been a true honor to serve you, share in your celebrations, and create countless memories together.”
Sad news! But there appears to be a happy turn to this story: this week, What Now came across a TDLR filing made by Binh Tran “to perform building, plumbing, electrical, mechanical, HVAC and painting works inside an existing building to create a restaurant” at 4301 W William Cannon Dr, Suite B108. The work is estimated to cost $480,000 and to run from May 1 to August 1.
We may be about to see a new Austin location filling the gap left by the old one!
What Now reached out to Tran on Thursday to ask about plans for a new Hao Hao Restaurant. Tran was not immediately available for comment.
