Noodlebox, a Canadian Asian fusion restaurant specializing in noodle-based dishes, is planning to open a new location in Montreal.

The new Montreal restaurant will mark the brand’s first location in Quebec, according to Retail Insider. While an exact opening date or address has not been confirmed, customers can expect interactive dining with meals cooked in visible woks and a menu focused on noodles, stir-fries, and Asian-inspired fusion dishes.

Noodlebox is part of the Foodtastic group, which operates 71 restaurants across Canada. The brand has a strong presence in Western Canada, particularly in British Columbia and Alberta, with smaller footprints in Saskatchewan, Ontario, and Atlantic Canada. In 2025, Noodlebox opened 14 new locations and currently has 25 more under development.

The Montreal expansion reflects Foodtastic’s eastward growth strategy. The brand plans to open the first corporate store in the city before pursuing franchise opportunities. This approach allows the company to maintain operational consistency while testing the market in a major urban center.

Noodlebox restaurants are typically 1,500 to 2,000 square feet, but can adapt to spaces as small as 900 square feet. Layouts often include multiple woks to manage high-volume orders, supporting both dine-in and takeout services. Average annual store sales are around $700,000, with some locations reaching nearly $1.9 million.

The menu combines traditional Asian flavors with milder options to appeal to a broad customer base, including 19–28-year-olds. Meals focus on noodles, stir-fries, large portion sizes, and customizable dishes designed for both dine-in and takeout. The Montreal location is considered a strong fit given the city’s culinary-focused culture, urban density, and interest in interactive, modern dining experiences.

“Montreal is very cool, very fashion-forward, very culinary-forward,” Scott McCannell, Senior VP of Franchising, tells Retail Insider. “We think that Montreal will be a bullseye market for Noodlebox.”
