Ben Navarro’s Beemok Hospitality Collection is preparing to debut The Cooper, a new luxury hotel in downtown Charleston this spring.
The Cooper will offer Charleston-inspired dining experiences, What Now Charleston previously reported. The hotel has revealed four distinct venues: The Crossing, CurrentBurger, Cooper Coffee & Wine and Bar Marti.
The Crossing, already accepting reservations, is set to open on March 30, with its other dining concepts launching later this spring, a spokesperson told What Now Charleston.
The Crossing
The Crossing will serve as the hotel’s signature restaurant, offering breakfast, lunch and dinner.
The menu is curated by acclaimed Chef Nick Dugan, whose work at Sorelle earned a Michelin star recommendation. It will showcase Mediterranean-inspired dishes with a Lowcountry twist, emphasizing locally sourced ingredients.
“There is nothing more inspiring than having a front row seat to the waters you source from,” Chef Dugan said in a statement. “It is a dream kitchen, and we are excited to prepare the seafood Charleston is so well known for in our own way.”
The menu offers mezze selections such as hummus, muhammara and baba ganoush served with housemade wood-fired pita, along with salads featuring freekeh, squash blossom, pomegranate molasses and fresh herbs. Seafood highlights include whole fish cooked over an open flame or broiled in grape leaves, a rotating crudo selection and an extensive shellfish program. Land options include dry-aged beef tenderloin with Aleppo butter and Colorado lamb chops with chermoula.
Daytime service reflects the same coastal influence. Breakfast features shakshouka, a Mediterranean-style Benedict, house-baked pastries, cured and smoked fish, and a housemade bagel program. Lunch serves lighter fare ideal for midday dining along the harbor.
Beverage director Cameron Nadler, formerly of New York City’s Polo Bar, brings a world-class wine list to The Crossing, focusing on Mediterranean producers and seafood pairings. Cocktails feature citrus, herbs and coastal botanicals, with signature drinks such as the Battery Rose Margarita, King George III Old Fashioned and Aegean Spritz.
The restaurant will serve breakfast from 7 to 10:30 a.m., lunch from 11 a.m. to 2:30 p.m., and dinner from 5 to 10 p.m. Brunch will be available Sundays from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., while the bar will operate daily from 11 a.m. to close.
CurrentBurger
CurrentBurger will focus on classic comfort food inspired by vintage soda shops, offering elevated smash burgers and hand-spun milkshakes in a casual setting.
Guests can dine in or grab their order at the takeout window overlooking Waterfront Park. The eatery is open daily from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m.
Cooper Coffee & Wine
Cooper Coffee & Wine, a namesake nod, will serve coffee and pastries in the morning before transforming into a wine bar in the evening, featuring a curated selection of charcuterie.
The cafe will operate with breakfast from 7 to 11 a.m., lunch from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m., and evening service from 3 to 9 p.m.
Bar Marti
Bar Marti will be a rooftop retreat on the fourth floor, offering coastal-inspired cocktails and small plates beside the infinity pool.
The bar, exclusive to hotel guests, will be open from 10:30 a.m. to 8 p.m. Dining service will run from 10:30 a.m. to 6 p.m., followed by light bites from 6 to 8 p.m.
Beyond its dining options, the property features an on-site marina with a fleet of luxury cruising boats, a custom yacht for dinner cruises and private events, and a waterfront taxi service to nearby Daniel Island. The Cooper also offers a 7,000-square-foot wellness spa and boutique shopping on the ground floor.
Overlooking the Cooper River, the 191-room hotel takes inspiration from the charm of the French Quarter.
