The Bed Bath & Beyond location that formerly occupied the space at 1744 Towne Center Way has been closed for about three years, and, since then, no new tenant has taken over. But after a long wait, plans are now in place to give the space a new life.
According to coverage by the Post and Courier, paperwork has been submitted for a new Crate & Barrel store to take over the space, together with a new L.L. Bean.
For Crate & Barrel, and for L.L. Bean, this opening would serve as a debut in the state of South Carolina.
“According to renderings Seamon Whiteside submitted, L.L. Bean, or Tenant A, would set up on the left side when facing the building, taking up 15,483 square feet of space,” the coverage says. “The neighboring Crate & Barrel, Tenant B, would occupy the remaining 18,830 square feet with its home goods and furniture selection.”
With a mission “to help people love how they live in moments that matter,” Crate & Barrel boasts more than 100 stores in the U.S. and Canada.
“We curate inspiration for the home, connecting the creative work of artisans and designers to people and places around the world,” says the Crate & Barrel website. “Our lifestyle brands offer inspired living through high-quality products, exclusive designs, and timeless style—all powered by digital design and visualization tools that provide seamless shopping solutions in-store and online.”
Opening in the old Bed Bath & Beyond space, Crate & Barrel and L.L. Bean would join Mount Pleasant Towne Centre, a business center whose retail community includes Athleta, Lululemon, Sunglass Hut, and lots more.
