The New Jersey-based restaurant and bar is expanding again, bringing its popular concept to Toms River this April.
Tommy’s Tavern + Tap, a concept behind Triple T Hospitality Group, will open at 1279 Hooper Ave. in the former TGI Friday’s spot, according to a video shared via Facebook.
“Toms River we know we’ve been waiting for this one and we can’t wait either,” the video said.
The late Tommy Bonfiglio founded the hospitality group after leaving his career as a lawyer and accountant to pursue his passion for the restaurant industry, the website reads.
Tommy’s Tavern + Tap offers a broad American‑style menu anchored by bar favorites, salads, burgers, sandwiches, pizzas, pasta and shareables.
Signature items range from coal‑oven roasted wings, loaded nachos and jumbo Bavarian pretzels to Triple T’s cheeseburger, hickory BBQ burger and steak sandwich, with pasta like penne vodka with chicken and comfort options such as pulled‑pork mac and cheese. The menu also includes fresh salads and lighter fare, with seasonal and chef’s specials rotating.
The restaurant features a full bar offering signature cocktails, a curated wine list and 24 beers on tap.
“The space itself just already feels like a Tommy’s surrounded by reclaimed wood, exposed brick, 20 TVs all around,” the video continued.
This will be the chain’s 16th location overall and 13th in New Jersey, joining outposts in Sea Bright, Freehold, Clifton, Bridgewater, Edison, Princeton, Morris Plains, Mt. Laurel, Cherry Hill, Edgewater, Sea Girt and Wayne. Other locations include Newark, Delaware; Staten Island, New York; and King of Prussia, Pennsylvania.
