A New York-style pizzeria is set to relocate next year.

Cutty’s Pizza, owned by brothers Ron and Alex Cardello, will move from its Little River location at 1442 Hwy 17 to a new space just minutes away at Calabash Commons.

“It’s actually only seven minutes from our current location. It’s the neighboring town. With it being so close and just kind of a new building, we figured we couldn’t miss, and we had to take that shot,” Ron told What Now Charleston.

He continued, “We’re looking to grow our already successful concept, and moving into the Calabash Commons, with the Publix anchored there, we feel like the foot traffic up there is going to be right along with what we want.”

The new space offers more room.

“It’ll be bigger, more kitchen space, and somewhere between like 30 to 35 seats,” he said.

The offerings will mirror those at the Little River location.

“We’re a real New York-style, by-the-slice pizzeria. We have pizza by the slice all day, every day, from open to close. We’re not just a lunch-slice place. We’re a pizza and pizza-variant place—slices, whole pies, calzones, strombolis, pinwheels, and garlic knots,” Ron said.

To stand out from other local spots, they stick faithfully to their recipe. Pie highlights include the original classic cheese; the “Grandma Pie,” a rectangular slice with cheese, sauce on top, Parmesan and fresh basil; and the distinctive “Primavera Pie,” topped with spinach, broccoli, mushrooms and red peppers.

“I think our pizza can stand up with anybody’s in this whole country. It’s cooked all the way. It’s no flop. We’re doing our thing. We stay consistent. I think consistency and quality are the things that keep us above board,” he said.

Ron looks forward to this transition with his brother.

“After being in this business for 30 years, it’s exciting to be able to set up the restaurant exactly the way we want it. It’s nice to finally be able to sit down with him [Alex] and work in this industry together,” he said.

While the team prepares for the move, the Little River location will stay open so guests can get their pizza fix.
