The Carina Starts Construction at MainPlace Mall
Santa Ana has seen the beginning of a new construction this week. The Carina at MainPlace Mall celebrated its groundbreaking ceremony, which was attended by several dignitaries. Attendees included Mayor Valerie Amezcua and Council Member Jessie Lopez.
According to Bussinesswire, The Carina is a residential community that Lowe Real Estate will develop. The project is being developed under a partnership with Centennial and Affinius.
Features and Timeline of The Carina
The Carina is an eight-story building at 2828 N. MainPlace Drive. It will offer 408 residential units as studio, one-, and two-bedroom apartments. The residential community will offer amenities like a pool, spa, fitness center, dog park, fireplace, club room, courtyards, and terraces.
The community connected with the upcoming Culinary District, standing adjacent to the building. It spans over 1.25 acres and is designed as a social hub for MainPlace. It is expected to be completed by the fourth quarter of 2028, along with The Carina.
Impact on Santa Ana
The Carina will add over 400 housing units to Santa Ana, which will help it address its limited housing supply. It also repurposes existing mall space, making it a central part of MainPlace’s redevelopment.
Through this, The Carina will bring new residents to the area. It will support the continued transformation of the MainPlace property, adding vibrancy to the area.
