After nearly a decade of planning, Sacramento’s Broadway corridor is about to get a major culinary boost.
In partnership with local developer Jon Gianulias, Chris Barnum-Dann—a Michelin-starred chef and California’s 2025 Sommelier of the Year—is opening three new concepts at the just-completed Tower Broadway, a 68-unit residential midrise located at 1600 Broadway.
According to a social media update from Scott Kingston of Turton Commercial Real Estate, the ground floor trio will include Sacasta, a Basque-inspired tapas and pintxos bar; Giadanno’s, a European-style market with a butcher, bakery, and creamery; and 4B Wine Cellar, a high-end bottle shop. Together, the spaces will form a dynamic new destination for diners, shoppers, and wine enthusiasts alike.
At Sacasta, guests can expect communal long tables and a menu designed for sharing: pintxos—small, bite-sized bar snacks—and tapas with slightly larger portions. According to Abridged, the restaurant will accommodate roughly 85 diners at a time, offering a convivial, lively atmosphere inspired by the Basque region.
Sharing a covered patio with Sacasta, Giadanno’s will supply all of Barnum-Dann’s restaurants in his growing hospitality group, Celebrate Together, while also offering a curated selection for the public.
Patrons can browse European-inspired sandwiches like Spanish bocadillos, French jambon-beurre, or Italian mortadella on focaccia, plus sweet treats from Kindred Creamery, including scoops of ice cream and affogatos. Specialty pantry items like Localis’ Thai chili crunch or red curry paste will also be available.
Meanwhile, 4B Wine Cellar aims to be Sacramento’s ultimate high-end wine retailer, featuring bottles starting at $150. More approachable selections will continue to be offered at the original Betty Wine Bar + Bistro, located at 1103 T Street.
These openings come on the heels of Barnum-Dann’s expansion of Betty Wine Bar + Bistro to East Sacramento, set to debut in about six months. The expansion reflects the chef’s confidence following strong early-year sales, with fan-favorite dishes like green curry ceviche, bucatini all’amatriciana, and Thai beef carpaccio returning alongside new menu items.
Slated to open within a year, Sacasta, Giadanno’s, and 4B Wine Cellar will bring elevated dining, European-style market offerings, and luxury wine shopping to Sacramento, anchoring Tower Broadway as one of the city’s most exciting new destinations.
