A popular hot chicken brand has taken the next step towards crossing the road and opening its doors in Germantown. Hattie B’s Hot Chicken has cleared another hurdle in its pursuit of its newest location, giving area poultry fanatics reason to rejoice, reports Commercial Appeal.

Paperwork filed with the Germantown Design Review Commission Subcommittee shows that the restaurant is hoping to set up shop at 7694 Poplar Avenue. Hattie B’s received approval from the Germantown Board of Mayor and Aldermen on March 23, further clearing the way for the eatery’s opening.

Hattie B’s Germantown location will span 2,975 square feet and will feature a 1,100 square foot patio. The restaurant will offer customers ample parking, with 15 spaces available for those hoping to dine-in.

The hot chicken establishment promises to be a boon to the local economy, both before and after it opens its doors. Hattie B’s build-out is projected to create 25 construction jobs for a one year period. Once it begins serving up its signature fare, the restaurant will employ between 25 and 30 local workers. It is predicted to bring in around $3 million in revenue annually.

Nashville’s own Hattie B’s first entered the fast-casual dining scene in 2012. The restaurant quickly became an essential entry in the growing hot chicken scene, thanks to its menu, described on the website as: “Plump, juicy birds flavored down to the bone no matter your heat level. Southern sides scratch-made daily. Ice-cold beer from your favorite local breweries. Top it all off with creamy banana pudding or peach cobbler for dessert.”
