The chef originally from Detroit is utilizing an empty storefront next to his business.

From Chicago Tribune, Molino Los Hermanos is a new concept being opened by chef Norman Fenton at 4666-68 N Broadway in Uptown. It will be directly next to his award-winning Latin restaurant Carino in the neighborhood. He and his team are hoping to open the restaurant sometime this summer.

Carino quickly became known as a destination for Latin-inspired cuisine and taco Omakase following the 2023 debut. Options include ravioli with sweet corn and truffle, chicharron, quesadillas and black cod with chayote. In a year, Fenton received a Michelin star and was a James Beard semifinalist for his work.

“Every little detail of Carino’s intimate setting is deeply personal and tells a story rooted in family and love of craft,” says the description on Carino’s website.

For Molino Los Hermanos, Fenton is going in a bit of a different direction, with a volcanic stone mill on one side of the business and a 24-seat restaurant on the other, with tortillas made on site. Guests can expect many different types of quesadillas, with the tortillas being a main focus for the menu. Drinks like Mexican beers, wine and cocktails will also be served.

Carino is near the intersection of N Broadway and W Leland Avenue, next to Nabala Cafe. Across the street is the Chicago Fair Trade Museum, featuring vintage clothing from all around the world. This is just south of the Lawrence CTA Red Line station.

Right now, there is no social media or website set up for the restaurant. What Now Chicago has reached out to Fenton and is awaiting comment.
