A former Gracious Bakery location that closed in 2023 is set to take on new life, as long-time dessert caterer Rebecca Broussard is planning to establish a permanent storefront. The Cake Lounge, a new brick-and-mortar extension of Crazy Cakes By Becky, is slated to open at 1000 S. Norman C. Francis Pkwy, Suite 100. The transition marks a major evolution for the business, which launched in 2015 with a focus on high-end custom orders. This new retail dessert lounge will offer a relaxed environment where fans of the brand can finally enjoy Broussard’s signature treats without needing the excuse of a formal event. What Now New Orleans has reached out for more information.

The menu at the upcoming outpost on the edge of Mid-City promises a comprehensive spread of artisanal sweets, ranging from delicate macarons to the “fun and delicious” cookies. Beyond the sugar-forward offerings, the lounge will also serve light café-style food and a variety of non-alcoholic beverages. An opening date has not been announced.
