An upcoming fast-casual restaurant celebrating African-American flavors and plant-based cuisine is coming to the Hoffman Triangle. Located at 3801 Washington Ave., Cafe Tanjarine will feature a menu that includes West African dishes like jollof rice alongside gumbo and other New Orleans dishes. The café will be a brick-and-mortar version of the Tanjarine Kitchen food truck, which is known for its plant-based Mandela Burger. What Now New Orleans has reached out for more information.

Owner-operator Dazzle Okpo launched the Tanjariné Kitchen food truck in 2018 alongside his family and business partner. After emigrating to New Orleans from Nigeria, Okpo created his signature soy- and gluten-free Mandela Burger patty to honor his heritage while promoting the virtue of plant-based food.
