The owner of a Pakistani grocer and eatery in Natomas is preparing to open his first full-service restaurant.
According to a post by Raj Karthikeyan on the Sacramento Indians Facebook group, Shahram Theekri of Natomas’s popular Desi Market & Grill will debut his new dining destination right next to his existing market at 2087 Arena Blvd in the Truxel Station Shopping Center.
Founded in 2024, Desi Market & Grill has become a neighborhood staple for its full halal meat selection, fresh Pakistani mangoes, spices, produce, chicken, fish, and even a unique perfume collection from India, Pakistan, and Fiji.
The market also offers a fast-casual menu featuring freshly prepared Indian, American, and Pakistani dishes, including shawarma, chaat, chicken nuggets, wings, samosas, baklava, Afghan bread, roti naan, and veggie burgers, which Karthikeyan describes as being “packed with flavor, perfectly grilled, and super satisfying.” Sweet dessert drinks like faludas and lassis are also available.
“This place is about to LEVEL UP in a big way!”Karthikeyan wrote, noting that the new sit-down space will be “PERFECT for birthday parties, family gatherings, and special celebrations.”
An official name, menu, and opening date have not yet been announced. What Now Sacramento has reached out to Theekri for additional details and will provide updates as they become available.
