Mayde Floral & Gifts is planning to open at the Palladio at Broadstone in Folsom in the first week of December. Owner Taylor Breshears confirmed to What Now Sacramento that she would love to open before Thanksgiving, but a December opening is more realistic due to city permits.
The shop will be at 350 Palladio Parkway, Suite 1931, next to White House Black Market, in the space that Pressed Juicery left earlier this year. Breshears is a florist who also makes honey and candles, which she plans to sell alongside the flowers and gifts.
According to the Sacramento Business Journal, the space is about 700 square feet and already has refrigeration for flowers. Breshears hopes to add charcuterie boards and gift baskets for the holidays if her permits come through.
Breshears lives in El Dorado Hills and is originally from Los Angeles, where she worked as a real estate agent. She still holds her real estate license and also runs Mayde Market in Shingle Springs, at 4050 Mother Lode Drive, Suite D.
She found the Folsom space while looking for a way to bring flowers to the Palladio, such as a flower vending machine or a flower trailer. A broker she contacted pointed her to the former Pressed Juicery unit.
The shop is also meant to be a community spot. Breshears plans to host classes like wreath making and pumpkin decorating, and she sees a demand for gatherings in Folsom and El Dorado Hills, based on what she sees people asking for on neighborhood social media groups. Later on, she may add a clothing line or interior design services.
Palladio General Manager Gloria Wright said Mayde will add a different kind of shop to the center. Other recent openings there include InstaPhysique, and Fidelity Investments is reported to be relocating to the Palladio.
