O’Laichii Cafe is taking over an existing cafe space at 1490 Eureka Road, Suite 170, in Roseville. Owner Hardeep Hundal confirmed to What Now Sacramento that he is preparing to announce a grand opening date to customers before the doors open.
Hundal said he wants customers to know the date before they start coming in. “I wanted to give the date to customers before they start coming in,” he said. He is in the middle of taking possession of the space, which means the opening is likely to come in the coming weeks.
The cafe’s concept blends American cafe culture with the traditional art of spiced chai. Its tagline is “Where India Meets America in Every Cup.” The menu is built around chai, coffee, cold drinks and fusion snacks, giving customers a mix of familiar cafe drinks and India-inspired flavors. Chai, a drink made from tea, milk and spices, has become a growing favorite at independent cafes across the country.
The cafe will be on Eureka Road, a commercial corridor in Roseville. The city is the most populous in Placer County, with about 147,800 residents, and is the third-largest city in the Sacramento area.
Roseville is known for its shopping, including the Westfield Galleria at Roseville, the second-largest mall in Northern California, and the open-air Fountains at Roseville. Major employers include Kaiser Permanente and Sutter Roseville Medical Center, which bring a steady daytime crowd to the area’s restaurants and cafes.
