The owners of Baton Rouge tapas spot Solera are shifting gears at 4205 Perkins Road, transitioning the restaurant into a more approachable concept called Southdowns Grille. Set to open in mid-April, the new venture will offer elevated comfort food to appeal to the heavy traffic between the city’s Southdowns and Garden District areas. What Now New Orleans has reached out for more information.
Executive chef Eric Sibley is behind a menu that balances sophisticated flavors with everyday staples, featuring highlights such as blue crab fritters, steak frites, baked lasagna, and grilled artichokes with herbed yogurt. At the bar, there will be 25 wines by the glass and 10 signature cocktails. The refreshed, more open space now includes a dedicated to-go counter and a renovated bar, according to The Advocate.
