Leidos to Lay Off 150+ Employees in Windsor Mill

A WARN notice shows that Leidos plans to lay off 156 employees at its Windsor Mill location. The notice was filed on April 6, 2026, which makes it the second filing this month. The layoffs will take effect on June 5, 2026, affecting employees at 3300 Lord Baltimore Drive, Windsor Mill.

The notice was filed in accordance with the state’s WARN Act, which requires employers to provide a 60-day notice. The Maryland Department of Labor will ensure that the affected employees receive support during this transition. This includes reemployment services, training, strategic planning and analysis, and other services.

Recent Layoffs Initiated by Leidos

Leidos has filed several WARN notices this year, affecting over 300 employees. In January 2026, it filed a WARN notice in Virginia stating it would lay off 93 employees. The next was on April 2, 2026, stating it would lay off 71 employees at Fort Meade.

The key drivers for the layoff are indicated in the 2026 annual filings, which show several external threats that are leading to the layoffs. These include the government budget cuts, delays in the government contract procurement process, and geopolitical risks.

The recent layoffs are seen as a move to stabilize the company’s margins. It will help realign its resources with Leidos’ long-term defense and technical services.

About the Company

Leidos is a U.S.-based defense and technology company that works mainly with governments. Founded in 1969, it has around 47,000 employees globally. Its key industries include defense, information technology, engineering, and healthcare.

The latest filing highlights the ongoing impact of shifting government contracts on defense contractors like Leidos. As priorities evolve and contracts shift, such workforce adjustments are expected to continue across the sector.
