The owner of the gaming cafe concept is not done with expansion in the village.

From a recent McHenry County public meeting, Ava’s Place is expanding to a new location at 4511 Greenwood Court in Algonquin. This would be the company’s fourth cafe, again featuring a bar and lottery machines. Owner Jim Vocos has not yet announced an opening date

Ava’s Place operates as a bar and video poker business in Algonquin, Streamwood and Crystal Lake . Each bar serves beer and wine, as well as food options like a personal pizza, tater tots and hot wings. The new location will be their third in McHenry County.

“Each location offers a stylish, comfortable setting with your favorite machines and a curated selection of alcoholic drinks, perfect for kicking back and enjoying the moment,” says the description on the company website.

At the March 31 meeting, the city approved a liquor license application for the new cafe. From meeting records, the building is fully renovated and ready to be converted into a gaming cafe. Vocos has not yet publicly announced the new spot.

The building in Algonquin was formerly Smoke & Vape Junction. This is near the intersection of N Main Street and Western Algonquin Bypass, close to Bella Vista Mexican Restaurant. Downtown Algonquin is just south of the address.

More information on Ava’s Place and the future location can be found on their website.
