A long-vacant Somerville storefront will soon be revived.

KERO+ Homemade Bites Brazilian Café is preparing to open at 374A Medford Street in the city’s Winter Hill neighborhood, according to a recent post within the Friends of Boston’s Hidden Restaurants Facebook group. The new eatery will take over the former Bocelli’s space, just steps from Gilman Square.

“KERO+ was created to bring more than just Brazilian flavors to the community — it’s about sharing the feeling of home,” co-owner Daniane Felicio, who is opening the business alongside partner Júnior Garcia, told What Now Boston. “Our concept is inspired by those moments of family gatherings, where parents or grandparents are in the kitchen, and food becomes part of memories, connection, and comfort.”

The menu will lean into that sense of nostalgia, featuring homemade Brazilian favorites such as coxinhas (teardrop-shaped chicken croquettes), pães de queijo (Brazilian cheese bread), sandwiches, and Brazilian coffee.

“Everything is made with care, focusing not only on quality and flavor, but also on recreating that sense of warmth and familiarity,” Felicio said. “For those who already know Brazilian food, it brings a sense of nostalgia — and for those who don’t, it’s an invitation to experience something new and meaningful.”

From preparation to presentation, every detail of the space is a collaborative effort. Garcia brings hands-on kitchen experience, particularly with savory Brazilian dishes, while Felicio draws on her entrepreneurial background running Sparkly Danny Cleaning Service to ensure a strong foundation of quality, organization, and attention to detail. “Together, we aim to create an experience that goes beyond food,” she said.

Tucked along the edge of Winter Hill’s small business corridor, the Medford Street space has remained vacant for quite some time. Plans to bring it back to life have already drawn support from neighbors, who voiced enthusiasm during a March 2025 meeting about the café.

Renovations are still underway, and while an official opening timeline has not yet been announced, the team says that KERO+ Homemade Bites Brazilian Café is on track to open its doors “soon.”
