A certified DMV hospitality hit maker is cooking up an exciting new concept, certain to inspire excitement in DC locals. Daniella Senior, the force behind Colada Shop and Elegancia, is getting ready to debut her next project, Bar Nuestro, later this year, reports Washingtonian.
The European-style bar will be bringing retro vibes to its 1331 Yards Pl., SE storefront. The Navy Yard eatery will be able to seat up to 80 customers inside and an additional 60 patrons will be able to enjoy a drink and a bite on a courtyard patio.
While Bar Nuestro will have atmosphere aplenty and delicious dishes sure to make mouths water, Senior is hoping to return a simplicity to the DC night out. She states: “In an industry where we are constantly so challenged and saying people are going out less, well, maybe we made dining a little too complicated for people. It became too much of a planning scenario versus being able to walk in. I want to be able to bring back being spontaneous and just showing up somewhere.”
The developing menu comes with serious pedigree; Culinary Director Claudio Fosch is a veteran of the José Andrés Group and is bringing innovation to favorites like the bar staple, burger and fries. Guests will also be able to enjoy various meat, pasta, and salad dishes.
No official word yet on when Bar Nuestro will be customer-ready, however the concept is on deck for a summer opening.
