Froosta Ice Cream is embarking on opening a shop in the Wilcrest neighborhood. According to a recently filed permit, the new sweets shop is expected to open at 11922 Wilcrest DR in the Southwest Plaza.

The $50,000 construction project is slated to start at the beginning of May and wrap up by the end of May this year, the permit details. Of course, the timeline is subject to change as work on the 1, 376 sqaure-foot ice cream and dessert shop continues.

At the helm of the opening is Rahil SunsaraWhat Now Houston briefly spoke with Sunsara, who confirmed that Froosta Ice Cream would open this spring, but was unable to share further details about the opening by the time of this publication.

With very little online presence, there’s not much information available about the upcoming eatery, but a Facebook page that appears to be still under construction.

The permit outlines an “interior finish-out of an ice cream and dessert shop, including installation of equipment, service counters, plumbing, electrical, lighting, and interior finishes.” So we can assume that Froosta Ice Cream will serve more than the sweet and creamy treat.

As we inch towards opening, we’re sure more information will be made available, especially from the brand’s social media pages. So, keep your eyes open and your ears perked for the latest on this exciting, sweet, new addition to the Houston desserts scene.

Froosta Ice Cream is anticipated to open in the Southwest Plaza at 11922 Wilcrest DR by this spring.

(This is a developing story. As more information is made available, we will update this story. Stay tuned!)
