A new seafood and gumbo spot is taking shape in Algiers, according to a business filing with the City of New Orleans. The filing indicates that Larue Seafood and Gumbo will be taking over the former 2 Phat Vegans location at 3613 General Meyer Ave. Owner Eddie Foster had been operating the business in Atlanta, according to an official Facebook page. A menu for that location includes seafood platters, classic po-boys (shrimp, oyster, fish, and hot sausage), and gumbo. What Now New Orleans has reached out for more information.

In September 2024, What Now New Orleans reported that 2 Phat Vegans was adding a second location in the French Quarter at 1303 Decatur St. The Algiers location closed at an undisclosed date.
