A cafe with Mediterranean flavors has a storefront in the suburb.

Odysseus Cafe is a new concept in the works for 23629 Farmington Road in the city’s downtown. It comes from the team behind The Jagged Fork, with locations around metro Detroit. Owner David Ayyash told What Now Detroit the project will open in the next three weeks.

While Ayyash is the owner of The Jagged Fork, he is opening the concept under Flour and Salt Hospitality. The team is currently hiring for new positions at the cafe, and they have been planning the new location for about six months.

Ayyash said this will be a Greek cafe with “homemade energy,” serving organic coffees, pastries and desserts. One of their signature brews will be a Freddo Espresso, a Greek iced coffee. The sweets include stuffed figs and chocolates.

“Odysseus Coffee, Chocolate and Nut is a specialty cafe and retail shop focused on high-quality coffee, handcrafted chocolates and premium nuts,” says a description for the business on Indeed.

The restaurant will open near the intersection of Grand River Avenue, next to La Pecora Nera, which is owned by Flour and Salt Hospitality. Heights Brewing is a couple storefronts down, and Lone Light Spirits cocktail bar is right across the street. The address was formerly Sipp Bar, a smoothie and juice bar.

Right now, there is no social media or website set up for the business. The owners will be releasing more information closer to the opening date.
