Quan Gi has already made a lasting impression on the Greater Houston community. Now the Vietnamese eatery is embarking on a short closure and renovations, according to a recent filing. A Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation permit details that Quan Gi, located in the Nha Trang plaza at 6968 Wilcrest Drive, Suite B, is planning a $129,700 renovation to the 2,438 square-foot restaurant.

According to the permit, construction on Quan Gi is already underway and slated to be completed in October for a fall reopening.

What Now Houston reached out multiple times to Quan Gi’s Dung Tran, who’s also listed on the permit. Unfortunately, we did not hear back from Tran by the time of this publication.

“Discover authentic Vietnamese flavors at Quan Gi Restaurant – your ultimate destination for mouth-watering Vietnamese cuisines,” the Quan Gi website reads.

“Dive into our exquisite noodle dishes, savor zesty Banh Mi sandwiches, and indulge in the refreshing taste of our signature Boba teas. Now offering speedy delivery and convenient takeout, bringing the taste of Vietnam straight to your doorstep. Place your online order today and enjoy a culinary journey like no other!”

Upon reviewing the brand’s Instagram page, it appears that Quan Gi first opened at the end of 2024 or early 2025 and has been thriving ever since.

Known for its authentic Vietnamese cuisine, including banh minoodle soup, and boba tea. Quan GI also serves a variety of rice platters and appetizers.

Located within a city with a rich Vietnamese culinary history dating back to the 1970s, the restaurant offers both dine-in and online ordering for takeout and delivery. Quan Gi also offers karaoke.

Quan Gi renovations will take place in the Nha Trang plaza at 6968 Wilcrest Drive, Suite B, this spring with a fall reopening.
