Located at 310 SW Industrial Way in Bend, Jackstraw is an apartment complex where “Forward-thinking, modern design meets warm, refined spaces with thoughtfully integrated natural elements to bring you a lush and sustainable living experience.”
This summer, it will also be home to the Way West, a new brewpub created in collaboration between Bend Brewing Co. and Sisters Meat & Smokehouse.
Describing the Way West as a bar-deli concept, where Bend Brewing will operate a full bar “which will look like a western-inspired horseshoe,” The Source reported in August 2025 that “Construction for the Way West will begin at the end of the year with a projected opening date next spring. It will have indoor and outdoor seating and will be located at the southwestern end of Jackstraw next to a pedestrian plaza.”
An update in a roundup by The Bulletin published back in February said the opening has been delayed somewhat:
“Packy Deenihan, one of the owners of Bend Brewing, said the brew pub is ready to break ground, but is still awaiting the approval of permits, which has pushed a potential opening date to early summer.”
What Now reached out to Deenihan on Friday to ask about plans for the Way West. Deenihan was not immediately available for comment.
