Located at 7304 N Leavitt Avenue in Portland, Gracie’s Apizza was a wood-fired pizza shop, a “small neighborhood restaurant with about 30 or so seats.” This April, it closed its doors.
“Tonight April 25th was our last day service,” Gracie’s Apizza’s owner, Craig, said in an Instagram post. “I have loved Gracie’s with all of my heart and have given it every drop of myself. It has been my home. I am so grateful for all of you that have supported throughout the years and for the staff that have worked with me. You all have become the fabric of my life and imagining my days without you is truly bizarre.”
A new restaurant is replacing Gracie’s Apizza in the Leavitt Avenue space: Harmonies Pizza and Ice Cream.
We became aware of Harmonies earlier this week after coming across liquor licensing paperwork submitted for the restaurant at the Gracie’s address. It wasn’t yet clear what the restaurant would be serving. The Gracie’s post sheds some light on the new restaurant:
“My friend Will, former co-owner of the beloved Handsome Pizza/Seastar will be taking over the space. I wasn’t actively looking to sell but this fell into place so easily. It will not be Gracie’s but I trust Will to take care of you all. Harmonies Pizza and Ice Cream will have lots of similarities but with his own touches. I hope you’ll give him the same chance you gave me. Every one on my small staff has/had been given the option to stay in their roles at the new place, some chose to stay, some go.”
What Now reached out to Will this week to ask about plans for the opening. The Harmonies Pizza and Ice Cream owner was not immediately available for comment.
