Calypso Cafe is reopening its Charlotte Avenue location in Nashville this week. The space has been refreshed with operational upgrades aimed at improving the guest experience.
Calypso Cafe is Reopening its Charlotte Avenue Location
Calypso Cafe is reopening for dine-in services at its Charlotte Avenue location on May 14, 2026. The reopening marks the return of the neighborhood staple, which has served Nashville diners for 37 years. During and after the pandemic, the location operated primarily as a prep and catering kitchen.
The location will now serve lunch and dinner six days a week. The reopening has unfolded in phases since David Parker took over the family-owned business. Takeout and delivery services resumed in August 2025, and now they are fully reopening.
“We’ve made some physical improvements to the space and streamlined service, which will allow our guests to enjoy the fast, fresh, and delicious experience they associate with Calypso Cafe,” said Parker.
Updated Features of the Restaurant
For the reopening, the restaurant has updated its space and services. It features indoor seating for 70 guests and an outdoor patio. It also plans to add bar service with local draft and craft beers in the coming weeks.
“I’m especially excited about the bar and patio seating, allowing guests to enjoy the space in different ways,” adds Parker. “We’ve had a lot of neighbors and regulars come through for takeout, and they ask often when we’ll be ready to open fully. I’m so excited that the time is here!”
