In news certain to prick up the ears of DC foodies, the team behind lauded Ethiopian concept Chercher has filed papers to pursue their next great hospitality adventure. Deluxe Bar is entering the region with a promising name and an impressive pedigree, sure to draw in a strong District crowd.
Deluxe Bar is setting up shop at 3606 14th Street, N.W., making it a next-door neighbor to Chercher Ethiopian Restaurant. The vaguely mysterious tavern has a liquor license application in with the Alcoholic Beverage and Cannabis Administration which sheds a little bit of light on some logistic questions pertaining to the concept.
Deluxe Bar will offer both inside and outdoor seating. The interior will have seats for up to 55 customers and a full occupancy load of 70. Up to 15 patrons will be able to take a seat al fresco on a sidewalk cafe with a full occupancy load of 20.
While there is not a great deal of information presently available about Deluxe Bar, locals can rest assured that it will be contributing more than just good drinks to a great DC night out. The paperwork shows that Deluxe is pursuing an “Entertainment Endorsement to include Cover Charge and Dancing Inside premises and on Sidewalk Café.”
Additional information about Deluxe Bar is sparse, however its neighbor and sibling Chercher has earned Michelin recognition, suggesting that great things are on the horizon for this next chapter.
Deluxe Bar’s listed hours of operation are 11 am to 3 am, Sunday through Saturday.
What Now DC has reached out to ownership and will update readers as details become available.
