A new pizza and stromboli option will soon serve the city near Flint.

From the Banana 101.5 Rocks radio station, a new concept called Stoney’s is opening on the north side of the city at 14330 Fenton Road. It comes from local Robert Stone who has years of restaurant experience with his father. Stone told What Now Detroit he is hoping to debut his restaurant in about 30 days.

Stoney’s is opening at the former Fit Box location, a boxing gym and fitness center in the area. The business also served grab-and-go meals for those exercising. Stone has been building out the space for his new restaurant the last six months.

Prior to starting his own business, Stone worked for years at his father’s pizzeria called Robs Pizza. He also worked at Rocky’s Pizza in Swartz Creek for 10 years. He has spent time working with fresh-made dough, and creating sauces like marinara, garlic cream and alfredo.

The menu will feature a full pizza menu for dinner, and for breakfast and lunch, smoothies and baked goods will be served including date turtles and bagel bumps. Guests can also expect stromboli served as an entree. Stone is preparing pizza sizes ranging from 10-16 inches, with small, eight-corner and large deep dish options.

Stoney’s is coming to the west side of Fenton Road, sharing the plaza with the Tri-City Trading Post pawn shop and Lizz’s Books used book store. Sagebrush Cantina is on the other side of the parking lot. This is just west of Lake Fenton.

Stone will be releasing more update on the restaurant as it gets closer to the opening date. More information can be found on the Stoney’s Facebook page.
