Driven by sushi chef Gang Lin, who was part of the Michelin Star-winning team at Yoshino, Sushi Kobashi looks ready to wow guests as a high-end sushi option in Chelsea. When it opens at 211 7th Ave., Sushi Kobashi will have some classic sushi and sashimi options available a la carte, according to a permit filing with Community Board 4. However, the eight-seat restaurant will specialize in an innovative omakase experience, with prices starting at $250 per guest. According to a post on Instagram, Lin will infuse the experience with Chinese ingredients, in a nod to his Chinese heritage. There will also be a focus on premium sake. What Now New York has reached out for more information.

In addition to being part of the Yoshino team, Lin was also a chef at Sushi Aozora in Union Square. In December, Forbes noted that the restaurant offered a highly-rated omakase experience at a more approachable price point: $165. Lin recently debuted the Kobashi menu in a pop-up at Sushi Aozora.
