Sweet Melody, the Miami-born ice cream shop that’s all about flavor, music, and family, is opening another ice cream shop.

The beloved ice cream shop announced it would be opening an additional shop in Kendall’s London Square, located at 13550 SW 120th Street, on Instagram, noting, “A new baby has joined the family!!! Store # 5!” The shop is scheduled to open just in time to cool off from Miami’s summer days.

The shop will offer 16 flavors by the scoop, pints, milkshakes, and sundaes in the classic record store-meets ice cream shop decor that makes Sweet Melody unique.

Owner Mike Romeu started Sweet Melody in 2019, naming it after his daughter. Romeu first started making ice cream from his home, using a tiny ice cream maker that was sitting unused in his garage. He started making ice cream for friends and soon learned that his ice creams and sorbets had a following. The ice creams are made with 16% butterfat and premium ingredients — many inspired by both pop culture and the city of Miami.

Romeu’s business has grown exponentially, with Sweet Melody opening its first Fort Lauderdale location just a month ago. Still, with all this success, Romeu’s ice creams are handcrafted in small batches and made with plenty of love.
