Benihana is planning a new Chino Hills location this year. It will take over the RA Sushi space, which closed at 13925 City Center Dr., at The Shoppes at Chino Hills. Local realtor John Algattas reported on social media that a full renovation of the space is underway and should wrap up this summer.
The restaurant, known for its teppanyaki experience, is owned by The ONE Group, which also operates other brands such as STK and Kona Grill. The ONE Group also operates RA Sushi.
Benihana has other local locations in Santa Monica, Torrance, Encino, Downey and Santa Anita. The restaurant serves Japanese cuisine such as sushi, steak, chicken and seafood dishes.
The brand currently has more than 70 restaurants across the U.S., the Caribbean, and Central and South America.
