Brazilian steakhouse Fogo de Chão will open at the Eastland Center in West Covina this year. The spot is listed as “coming soon” on the Eastland Center website.
The spot, taking over a former TGI Fridays at 2753 E. Eastland Center Drive, is currently under construction and should be completed in October, according to a post from local realtor John Algattas.
Fogo de Chão has a handful of locations across the Los Angeles area, including spots in Pasadena, Beverly Hills, El Segundo, Santa Monica, Woodland Hills and Thousand Oaks.
Founded in 1979 in Porto Alegre in Brazil, Fogo de Chão utilizes the culinary art of churrasco burning. The brand made the jump to the American market in 1997, opening a location in Dallas. Since then, Fogo de Chão has grown as a global brand, opening more than 70 locations across the world.
The menu features items like bone-in ribeye, filet mignon, bacon-wrapped steak, chicken, lamb chops, pork, smoked salmon, lobster and Chilean sea bass. They also serve the Market Table, which features a seasonal plate of ingredients inspired by Brazilian farmlands and recipes.
