Those in need of a quick stop for coffee in the city will soon have a new option.

Franchise group Who Brew is continuing growth in Chicagoland with a new location under construction in Waukegan. The shop is coming to 3378 Grand Avenue, near the Green Bay Road intersection. Sarah Pomella, chief of staff at Who Brew, told What Now Chicago the team is hoping to have the coffee spot open by the end of June or early July.

The franchise company operates shops in Chicago, Nashville and Pittsburgh, and continues to expand their reach in the Chicago area with this new location. The company has previously opened shops in Lake Zurich, Tinley Park with plans for Bloomingdale, Crystal Lake and Grayslake. There are now over 20 Illinois locations listed online.

“We’ve been excited to become part of the Waukegan community for quite some time and are thrilled to finally be getting close! We’re hoping to wrap up construction this week, and once complete, we’ll begin dropping drinks around the community to introduce ourselves and spread the word ahead of opening,” Pomella said.

Fans of 7 Brew know what to expect with the menu, which includes hot and cold brew coffees, energy drinks, fizz drinks which have sparkling water infused in flavors and topped with cream, teas, lemonades and shakes. New drinks have been crafted recently like the cereal milk matcha latte with skim milk.

This is not the only coffee option at the intersection, as a Starbucks is nearby on the north side of Grand Avenue. A McDonald’s is also across the street, as well as a Thorntons gas station which serves coffee. The nearest 7 Brew is in Round Lake Beach, one of the shops Who Brew also opened.
