According to public filings, Fortunate Son will open a new location at 8686 Ferguson Rd., Suite 200. The concept focuses on bringing an authentic New Haven–style pizza to Texas, featuring thin, naturally leavened dough with a long fermentation process, a distinctly charred, blistered crust baked at very high heat, simple, high-quality toppings, and a signature tomato sauce that is bright and slightly tangy. There is no opening date on the horizon yet.
According to public filings, the project will span 4,300 square feet, including 2,811 square feet of interior space and a 1,489-square-foot patio. Renovations are expected to begin in June, with completion projected for October 2026.
WhatNow Dallas spoke with Matthew Tobin, Fortunate Son’s co-owner, who said the project is still in its early stages. “It’s very, very early on,” he said. “We haven’t even started construction yet. We haven’t even done any demolition yet.” Tobin also said to WhatNow Dallas that strong business results have supported its expansion into a second location.
The new location will be in Ferguson Road, a high-traffic East Dallas retail corridor characterized by residential density and incremental redevelopment. Tobin said the team chose the area due to familiarity and described it as underserved. “We feel like it is an underserved area of the city,” he said.
