According to public filings, the Hyderabad-cuisine restaurant Birista House plans to open its second U.S. location at 1129 Coker St. in Irving. Birista House specializes in Hyderabad-style cuisine. The brand currently operates two locations in India and a restaurant in Denton, Texas. Menu offerings at existing locations include biryani, curries, tandoori dishes, kebabs, and regional specialties. The restaurant uses organic, fresh ingredients and puts a modern twist on traditional Hyderabad cuisine.
The project is currently in the early development phase. WhatNow Dallas reached out to Sunil Kumar, owner of Birista House, who confirmed that the restaurant is still several months away from opening. “The project is still in the early stages,” Kumar said. “We’re probably still a couple of months away.” Public records indicate that construction is currently projected to begin in September 2026, with completion expected by June 2027. However, those dates could shift.
The address previously housed Momo & Biryani, a South Asian restaurant that now appears to be listed as temporarily closed on Google. The location is in an area that has maintained a steady presence of independent international dining concepts in recent years.
The upcoming Irving restaurant would mark the brand’s second Texas location and continue its expansion outside India. While Kumar did not provide additional details regarding the opening timeline, he said more information may become available closer to mid-June as development progresses.
