Piola, the Italian restaurant known for its thin-crust pizzas, is opening a Las Olas-area restaurant.
FL & CM Food LLC filed permit applications with the Florida Department of Business and Professional Regulation to open a restaurant at 221 SW First Avenue, CU102 in Fort Lauderdale. An opening date has not been announced, although the restaurant’s website confirms the announcement, simply saying “coming soon”.
Founded in Italy in the 1980s, Piola first started charming Miamians in the 1990s. Since then, the restaurant has become popular for its thin-crust pizzas, meatballs, salads, and more.
Customers can choose between classic pizzas like a margherita, the Diavola with spicy salami, mozzarella, and tomato sauce, and more. Vegetatrians will delight in the Ortomisto, topped with zucchini, sweet peppers, spinach, sauteed broccoli, toasted heirloom tomatoes, and mozzarella. The restaurant also offers vegan cheese and can make any pie with gluten-free or chia flour crust.
The restaurant is also community minded, and offers different ways for charities and organizations to fundraise.
