Born in Miami Beach and inspired by Southern Italy, Bella is a hip Italian restaurant set to open an outpost in the Lower East Side. According to a permit filing with Community Board 3, the international Good People Group is planning to bring its Bella concept to the LES Hotel at 187 Orchard St. A one-page menu included with the filing listed playful, modern preparations  such as “White polenta in its purest form” and “The Marrow of a Dinosaur Bone.”

Taking over from the former Blue Ribbon Sushi Izakaya, the new Bella location will have seating on both the second floor of the hotel and a rooftop patio. The owners are seeking a full liquor license and plan to operate daily from 11 a.m. to midnight, with the rooftop closing at 10 p.m. An opening date has not been announced, and What Now New York has reached out for more information.

Good People Group founder Eyal Shani created Bella as a love letter to Southern Italy. The restaurant website describes Bella as a persona: “A lifelong cook with confidence, instinct, and a wicked sense of humor.”
