A Mexican restaurant chain specializing in regional cuisine is preparing to open its first New York location in Hell’s Kitchen at 806 9th Ave. Founded in 1988, in the Mexican state of Sonora, Los Arbolitos De Cajeme is a full-service restaurant that has built its brand on both seafood dishes, such as ceviches and aguachiles, and grilled meat dishes that are popular in Sonora. The restaurant currently has several locations in the United States, but this would be the first in New York.

In a Hell’s Kitchen Facebook post, franchisee Alan Cordova said the planned location would be “a space that serves as a positive addition to the community—a place where neighbors can gather and enjoy a unique dining experience.”

What Now New York was able to contact Cordova, but he declined to provide additional details, only saying the project is at a very early stage.
