Buffalo Wild Wings is set to take flight at the George Bush Intercontinental Airport (IAH)According to a recently filed permit, the booming wings chain is expected to open at 3500 North Terminal Road, Terminal D, Space TDF 2.

The permit further states that construction on the new Buffalo Wild Wings airport has just started and is slated to be completed by mid-August. If all goes well with permitting and the estimated $1 million construction project, the new Buffalo Wild Wings should open before the end of summer.

At the helm of the new eatery is Project Manager Cramer James at LaTrelle’s Management Corporation, who was also listed on the permit. What Now Houston reached out to James and the President of Buffalo Wings at Inspire BrandsJohn Bowie, but did not hear back by the time of this publication.

“Good thing there’s no such thing as too many sauce options,” the Buffalo Wild Wings website reads.

The brand offers 26 sauces and dry rubs for wings, boneless wings, and/or strips. Besides the chicken, Buffalo Wild Wings has a host of sides, including fried picklesonion rings, and fries. Buffalo Wild Wings also offers burgers, salads, and veggies to go with your wings.

There are currently fewer than 20 Buffalo Wild Wings locations in Houston, but Texas takes the cake for the highest number of Buffalo Wild Wings locations in the country, representing 10% of the brand’s total with a whopping 138 wing spots. Globally, there are more than 1,300 Buffalo Wild Wings locations, with the vast majority in the U.S.

With the brand expanding to include smaller, take-out, standalone Buffalo Wild Wings spots called Buffalo Wild Wings GO, we’re sure to continue to see that number climb.

Through all of the growth, the menu has mostly remained the same.

In search of authentic Buffalo-style chicken wings, Jim Disbrow and Scott Lowery turned their craving into profit when they opened Buffalo Wild Wings & Weck, or BW3, in 1982. What started as a wing joint for college students turned into a worldwide brand that would eventually franchise, drop the Weck, and become the Buffalo Wild Wings we all know today. The brand was then bought by Arby’s Restaurant Group Inc., now Inspire Brands, in 2018 for $2.9 billon.

Now, Inspire Brands is embarking on even more openings.
