Passionate foodies know that many of the best restaurants start life as pop-ups and food trucks. Little causes more excitement than seeing these scrappy culinary innovators set up shop in a permanent home, and soon a Memphis staple and its fans will experience this thrilling evolution. Best Oysters, specializing, of course, in the titular dish, is preparing a brick-and-mortar, with work currently underway.

Oyster fiends can rest assured that the concept is making progress towards opening its doors; the renovations needed to turn the space at 2659 N. Hollywood Street into the concept’s new home are actively occurring. Best Oysters announced the storefront via social media post on June 2. The statement expressed both enthusiasm and gratitude, saying: “We are officially working on our very own storefront location…we couldn’t have reached this milestone without the incredible support from the wonderful people of Memphis. From the bottom of our hearts, thank you to everyone who has supported us, shared our posts, placed an order, and spread the word. Your support has made this dream possible!”

Best Oysters fans will still be able to get their fix while they await the brick-and-mortar’s completion. The announcement includes this reassurance: “While construction is underway, please continue to come visit us at Yale Ave. We’re still serving up your favorites and look forward to seeing you there.”

While an opening date is not presently available, enthusiastic foodies hungry for information can follow the eatery’s Facebook page for opening updates.
