Buc-ee’s is set to expand its footprint in Ohio with a new travel center planned for Mansfield following approval from the Mansfield City Council, according to The Sun U.S.

The project, which was approved during a council meeting on June 2, will bring the popular mega travel center chain to a site located approximately 67 miles northeast of Columbus. The development was originally introduced earlier this year before receiving formal approval from city officials.

The upcoming Buc-ee’s location will span approximately 74,000 square feet and will be constructed on a 37.5-acre site, according to officials. A tentative opening timeline has been set for early 2028.

While specific ownership details for the Mansfield location have not been publicly disclosed, Buc-ee’s operates as a privately held company and typically develops its locations at a corporate level rather than through franchising.

Once complete, the Mansfield travel center is expected to feature Buc-ee’s signature offerings, including a large network of fuel pumps, convenience retail, Texas-style barbecue, and the brand’s well-known packaged snacks and merchandise.

The expansion continues Buc-ee’s rapid growth across the United States, with additional locations also planned or under development in states including North Carolina, Arizona, Virginia, Tennessee, and Florida.

Mansfield Mayor Jodie Perry previously described the project as more than a typical gas station, noting it is expected to serve as a major destination and contribute significantly to the local economy.

Additional details, including an exact address and further project specifications, have not yet been released. What Now Columbus reached out for comment but did not receive a response at the time of publication. This article will be updated if additional information becomes available.
