Newnan restaurant Cafe 1485 has announced plans to relocate to a new spot within White Oak Center, according to a social media announcement (The City Menus first reported the news). It will take over the former Shirley’s Country Kitchen location at 1485 GA-34 near Harbor Freight.
Chef and owner Darrin Richards told What Now Atlanta that the new location will be significantly larger, bumping their space from 1,200 square feet to 3,300 square feet. The new spot will give them additional kitchen space to make more dishes in house.
The team has just begun the process of developing the space with the architect and construction is still to come. Though more details are forthcoming, Richards shared that they are looking into adding a coffee shop corner with a barista counter in the new space.
In the meantime, the brand will continue to operate at its current location.
“Cafe 1485 has always been more than a business to us. It’s been a place full of regulars that became family, conversations that brightened hard days and an amazing community that has supported us beyond words!” the team’s recent announcement states. “This new space means we’ll be able to serve you better while keeping the same cozy Cafe 1485 heart that made you fall in love with us in the first place.”
The breakfast-and-lunch spot currently operates from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. most days except Sunday and Monday.
