A well-known gas station and convenience store, Sutter Creek Trading Post, is changing hands and getting a new name. Gold Country Market, operated by Sutter Creek GCM Inc., is run by their president, Charanjit Singh, and CFO, Tajinder Singh. They are set to take over the space at 121 Hanford Street in Amador County, according to a liquor license application filed with the California Department of Alcoholic Beverage Control this week.

The Hanford Street address has been a community fixture for years, previously operating as the Sutter Creek Trading Post and later the Sierra Trading Post, a locally familiar stop for gas, snacks, and everyday essentials in the heart of Gold Country. While specific details about the market’s layout and amenities have not yet been announced, convenience stores of this type typically offer similar grab-and-go items for travelers and local customers.

The property is located along Highway 49, one of the main routes connecting many of California’s historic Gold Country communities. Sutter Creek is a small historic city of roughly 2,500 residents in Amador County. It has long been a popular stop for both residents and visitors exploring the region’s wineries, historic downtown district, and outdoor recreation opportunities. A neighborhood market and gas station are essential anchors in a community this size, where options are limited and locals depend on proximity.
