7th Avenue is preparing to enter the Arizona market with its first showroom in the state, scheduled to open this October at Kierland Commons, located at 15210 N. Scottsdale Road, Suite 305, in Scottsdale.
Founded by Billy Shaw and Josh Stinson, 7th Avenue specializes in modular sofas designed for everyday living. The company’s products feature machine-washable covers, water-repellent and stain-resistant fabrics, and modular pieces that can be reconfigured as needs change over time.
Clary Groen, Vice President of Real Estate for 7th Avenue, told What Now Phoenix that Arizona’s growth made it a natural fit for the company’s expansion plans.
“The Phoenix-Scottsdale metro area has experienced a massive real estate and population boom. It’s a market full of modern, design-forward homeowners who value elevated living spaces, making it a natural next step for 7th Avenue’s expansion.”
According to Clary, Kierland Commons stood out as a natural fit for the brand’s first Arizona showroom and 11th nationwide.
“Kierland Commons is a premier outdoor lifestyle center in North Scottsdale that already attracts the exact demographic that we target, which is affluent shoppers looking for premium retail experiences.”
“This opening represents our commitment to building out a robust omnichannel presence. Rather than a shift away from our online roots, our physical showrooms are a natural extension of our digital platform.”
Customers visiting the Scottsdale showroom will be able to explore the brand’s modular furniture system in person while receiving individualized design guidance.
“As far as the showroom experience goes, customers have the ultimate flexibility. They have the option to book a dedicated appointment or simply walk in. Either way, they can expect an intimate, low-pressure, heavily guided experience.”
Visitors will be able to test fabrics, experiment with different layouts, and create configurations tailored to their homes.
“They can map out custom modular configurations to fit their specific floor plans and test the actual comfort levels and layout options.”
The showroom will also give customers a chance to see the furniture’s performance fabrics in action.
“A hallmark of the showroom experience is letting customers literally pour a Diet Coke directly onto the fabrics to witness our proprietary water-repellent, stain-resistant technology work in real time.”
Clary said the company wants the showroom to feel different from a traditional furniture store. In addition to personalized consultations, the company focuses on creating spaces that feel more like modern homes than conventional retail environments.
“We offer the deep, modern cloud aesthetic, but build it with true washability. Every part of the cover can be zipped off and machine washed at home.”
Looking ahead, Arizona appears to be only the beginning for the brand’s presence in the state.
While the company’s immediate focus remains on the Kierland Commons opening, Clary shared that 7th Avenue already has plans for another Phoenix-area showroom within the next two years.
