Working out should be fun, and Fly Dance Fitness brings that philosophy to life through a nightclub-inspired atmosphere, a concept soon headed to Charleston.

Franchise owner Renee Gavriil plans to bring the studio to 600 Long Point Rd. in Belle Hall Shopping Center, opening between Gown Boutique of Charleston and Soulshine Aesthetics.

The studio will mark the brand’s first Charleston-area location and second in South Carolina, joining an existing outpost in Myrtle Beach.

Originally from Greece, Gavriil told What Now Charleston she joined the franchise after Fly Dance Fitness made a lasting impact on her life. She chose Mount Pleasant because she calls the area home, appreciates its central location and wants to give back to a community supportive of her after her move.

“It is fun. It actually helped me a lot because my move here to the U.S. was a bit difficult, so this is something I now want to provide for the community,” she said.

Fly Dance Fitness is a dance-based fitness company offering high-energy group workouts blending cardio, strength training and choreographed movement in a club-inspired setting. The brand’s class lineup includes dance fitness, step workouts, circuit training and recovery-focused sessions, emphasizing community, accessibility and full-body exercise for participants of all fitness levels.

Don’t have a studio in the area? The studio also offers a virtual membership program, giving participants access to live-streamed and on-demand classes from home.

“What we want to provide is a judgment-free place where all people let loose, be themselves and, most of all, enjoy. You don’t have to have any experience. Imagine being in a nightclub—dark room, lights and loud music,” Gavriil said.

Fly Dance Fitness is moving through the permitting process with plans for a fall opening. Visit the website and follow along on Instagram for the latest updates.
